I) Name of Post: Director of Prosecution
Number of Post: 01 (one)
Salary: Rs. 1,99, 1 00/ – Rs. 2, 24, 100/ –
II) Name of Post: Deputy Director of Prosecution
Number of Post: 03 (Three)
Salary: Rs. 1,63,030/ – Rs. 2, 19,090/-.
Other Criteria of Home & Political Department Recruitment
Eligibility:
(i) Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India.
(ii)The candidate must possess character that is suitable in all respects for employment in Government Service.
(iii) No person who has more than one wife, living or in case of a woman is married to person already having a wife living shall be eligible for appointment to any post in the service.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognised University of India (established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or Provincial Act) or an Institute recognised by the Government of Assam or University Grants Commission (UGC).
Age Limit:
i) For the post of Director of Prosecution: Not less than 45 (forty five) years of age and not exceeding 60 years of age as on 01/03/2023
ii) For the post of Deputy Director of Prosecution: Not less than 40 (forty) years of age and not exceeding 60 years of age as on 01/03/2023
How to Apply for Home & Political Department Recruitment ?
The eligible candidates shall have to apply by Registered Post/ Speed Post/ by Hand, submitting the Form appended herewith, complete in all aspects, enclosing all necessary documents, to the Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home & Political Department, Block-C, 1st Floor, Janata Bhawan, Dispur, Guwahati-6, by Speed Post/ Registered Post/ by Hand between 11:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on all working days, clearly mentioning on the envelope the post he/ she has applied for and such application, complete in all aspects, should reach the office of the undersigned on or before 11/08/2023 positively.
Clearly indicating in the envelope- “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DIRECTOR OF PROSECUTION” or “APPLICATION FOR THE POSTS OF DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF PROSECUTION”, whichever is applicable.
The Following Documents to be Submitted along with application form:
Duly filled up application form, affixing a self attested Photograph on the top right side of the Form, along with self attested.
Photocopies of the following documents/ certificates:
(i) Matriculation/ 10th Standard/ HSLC Admit Card/ Pass Certificate issued by Central/ State Board, having clear indication of the Date of Birth.
(ii) Pass Certificates and Mark sheets of all examinations from Matriculation/ 10th Standard/ HSLC onwards up to the level of qualifying examination.
(iii) Document showing Date of Enrolment, with a self declaration that after enrolment he/ she has not left practice as Advocate and has not joined any other service/ profession/ business. In case contrary facts to such claim, comes to fore subsequently, his/ her candidature shall be rejected and may even lead to termination from service, if detected after joining service.
(iv) 2 (two) Passport size photographs.
Physical and Mental: The candidates should be in good health- mentally and physically and he shall be free from any physical disabilities due to which there is a possibility of hindrance to performing his duty efficiently. Persons with speech, hearing and sight impairedness are not eligible for appointment to the posts of Director of Prosecution and Deputy Director of Prosecution. Any candidate before being finally approved for the recruitment will be expected to pass the Medical Board Examination.
